Beit Douma

Ahla w sahla bi Beit Douma!

Douma is one of the last Lebanese preserved villages…A postcard photo in the heart of the Batroun Mountains

Beit Douma is an old, traditional Lebanese house that has been gently and thoughtfully restored. The oldest part of the ground floor dates back to the 18th century, and some of the original Summaqi stone floor remains in the library. The original Hharounn – a hole in the floor filled with hot coals to heat the room – has also been preserved. The library is filled with reading material and plenty of DVDs to choose from, which you are welcome to watch for a movie night!

The kitchen is an open, light-filled space where breakfast is served, and where guests are invited to join in to help prepare breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You are also welcome to help yourself from the tea and coffee counter, which always has one or two desserts available.

Beit Douma is now equipped with solar panels and provides 24/7 electricity for a better experience and more pleasant stay.

The home is surrounded by large terraces, gardens, and orchards. A Tabouneh (traditional mud-brick oven), hand-built by our bread queen Em Ali, is built on the kitchen terrace to make fresh Manakeesh.

Beit Douma welcomes private functions and celebrations! For more information, or to book, call +961.06.520.702 or +961.70.082.225, or email us at info@beitdouma.com.
